Volkswagen Taigun, Tiguan, T-Roc | Interview with Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, VW, India | Times Drive
Volkswagen's journey in India so far has not been as rewarding as the brand initially had expected. But the German carmaker is not giving up on the Indian market as yet. In fact, Volkswagen is now striving for a three per cent market share in the country and has a plan in place. The company wants to increase its share in the Indian automobile market by having four SUVs in its portfolio.
This makes a lot of sense given that SUVs are all the rage in the country. Volkswagen has noted that its SUV offensive in India started when it launched T-Roc and Tiguan in India last year. Arriving here via CBU route, both these SUVs' first batch sold out last year and the second batch will go on sale from 1 April. The third, and probably the most important Volkswagen SUV coming to India this year will be the Taigun. It is a compact SUV and was showcased at Auto Expo 2020 as a concept. On the unveil of Volkswagen's full SUV range we got a chance to interview Volkswagen India Brand Director, Ashish Gupta and speak on lot on things in this video.
