Health Minister Harsh Vardhan dismissed as "farce" the "hue and cry" by some states about the Centre's partisanship, calling it an effort to mask their own incompetence, noting that non-BJP ruled Maharashtra and Rajasthan ranked among the top three states in terms of vaccine allocation.
As the number of COVID-19 cases in India reached a new high, Vardhan said that 9.1 crore vaccine doses have been used, 2.4 crore are in stock, and 1.9 crore vaccines are in the pipeline, suggesting that there are enough doses for all states. Many inoculation centers in Maharashtra are being closed due to a shortage of coronavirus vaccines, according to Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope, who also said that the state now has 14 lakh doses that will only last three days.
