The date 2nd April 2011 remains to be one of the important ones in the history of Indian cricket. It was on this day that the Men in Blue ended the 28-year drought and won their maiden 50-over World Cup title. Led by MS Dhoni, the home team defeated co-hosts Sri Lanka in the summit clash to lift the trophy.
The crowd at the Wankhede Stadium was at its feet during the course of the final. At one stage, Sri Lanka did have an upper hand before India made a heroic comeback. Chasing the target of 275, India rode on Gautam Gambhir's 97 and MS Dhoni's 91* to scale the chase in the penultimate over.
Among those who witnessed the live action at the Wankhede Stadium was Arjun Tendulkar, the son of India legend Sachin Tendulkar. While his presence at the venue didn't surprise many, a pic of him sitting with Prithvi Shaw during the final has left many surprised.
