But some times, they do not go as intended and end up with disastrous consequences. From a hoax report that nearly sparked a war to protesters taking to streets, with banners reading: "Domestic violence is not a joke", below are some April Fool's pranks that went terribly wrong.

                                                                            <blockquote id="5fpwuwdl" style="display:none !important"></blockquote>

                                                                              <mark id="av91h44f" style="display:none !important"></mark><area id="1kncdsr7" style="display:none !important"><b id="u4rqa8o9" style="display:none !important"></b></area>

The report turned out to be a hoax, and the intelligence officer was court-martialed.

                                                                              <tt id="bszgnp9c" style="display:none !important"></tt>

Terrified locals rushed to save themselves, and a chopper flew to investigate the blaze.

Next to it was a message reading – “APRIL FOOL”. Subsequent inquiries revealed that a local resident had hired a chopper to fly tyres, soaked in kerosene, and lit them for April Fool’s day ruse.

In 1896, a newlywed farmer in Tennessee in the US scared his wife to death. On April Fool’s day, the farmer, identified as John Ahrens, disguised himself as a tramp and put on a white face mask. He then knocked on the door. When his wife saw him, she lost consciousness and died of shock within an hour. He had not imagined that the prank would have such a tragic consequence.
