- The man was murdered soon after he learned about his wife's affair with his best friend
Bareilly: The wife of an ex-Army man and her lover allegedly murdered him and passed off the dead as an accident. The incident took place on March 4 in the Tilhar area of Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Initially, the cops suspected that the man died in an accident. Further probe, however, revealed that the man was murdered.
During the investigation, the police found that the man was killed as his wife had an extra-marital affair with his best friend Mukesh Yadav.
The man's wife was identified as Madhu. The deceased was identified as Dhanpal. Dhanpal was found underneath Mukesh's car on a connecting road to Rajanpur on March 4. Initially, it appeared that the man was run over by Mukesh's car.
During the investigation, the police learned that Dhanpal was employed at a private company in Gurugram and had returned home when he learned that his wife had an affair with Mukesh. Further probe revealed that the man was killed by his wife and Mukesh, The Times of India reported.
The police learned that on Monday, Mukesh returned to Tilhar and arrested him from Katra, Shahjahanpur. Additional SP (rural) Sanjeev Bajpai said, "During interrogation, he accepted to have run over his friend on Madhu's instructions. He was fleeing the spot, but his spot, but his car got stuck in the mud and he had to leave the case with the body. " The accused were booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
