Bareilly: Love proved to be fatal for a 21-year-old man in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh after he was allegedly stabbed to death by his girlfriend's family members. The youth went to meet the woman on Holi when he was allegedly thrashed and stabbed to death. He suffered several injuries and his body was stuffed inside a bag.
The bag was found at a field near Govindpur Road on Tuesday. A resident of Bilari, Moradabad, the deceased worked as a tailor in Delhi. On Holi, he went to his relative's residence in Bhavanipur to celebrate the festival of colours and met his friend.
Reportedly, the deceased and the woman were in a relationship. When the girl's family saw the two of them, they grew furious and allegedly thrashed the 21-year-old man. The accused did not stop here, they allegedly stabbed the man to death, The Times of India reported.
Following this, the girl's family approached the cops and lodged a missing complaint. During the probe, the cops found the abandoned body in a field and identified the 21-year-old man. According to ASP Alok Kumar, the accused first thrashed the man. After which, they allegedly stabbed him and strangled him to death.
The ASP said, "There were multiple injury marks on the body. His hands were tied. Two suspects, including the girl's father, have been arrested and body sent for a post-mortem." Arun Kumar, circle officer said that the accused were booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further probe is underway.
