West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee vs BJP's Suvendu Adhikari in Nandigram
Nandigram: As the polling in the second phase of West Bengal election 2021 ended on Thursday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suvendu Adhikari said that he would emerge victorious from Nandigram and claimed that Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee has decided to contest from a minority-based constituency in Birbhum area during the last phase of Bengal polls.
“She (Mamata) is aware that she is losing her political ground in West Bengal. She is enacting a drama. I have specific information that she would now announce her candidature from a minority-dominated seat in the Birbhum area and contest during the last phase of West Bengal Election 2021," Adhikari said.
Adhikari, the follower-turned-political foe of Banerjee, is locked in an intense election battle with the TMC supremo in the Nandigram constituency.
Meanwhile, TMC categorically rejected Adhikari’s claims of Banerjee reportedly deciding to contest from another constituency.
Speaking exclusively to Times Now, Derek O Brien said, “There is no confusion...Mamata Banerjee has won Nandigram. She is not fighting from any other seat. This is BJP’s dirty tricks at work. There is nothing to clarify as she is winning Nandigram and Trinamool is winning Bengal.”
